UNIPV AGRISCALE PROJECT

AGRISCALE: THE REPORT OF THE 1ST YEAR OF WORK FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRI-FOOD SYSTEM IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA HAS BEEN DRAWN UP

Since January 2020, the University of Pavia, in collaboration with European and African universities, has been participating in an Erasmus+ Key Action 2 AgriSCALE project (https://www.agriscale.net/) aimed at reforming the curricula of five African universities in Kenya, Zambia and Uganda so that they can adopt a Problem-Based Learning approach: a teaching method in which students learn by actively designing solutions to problems encountered in real working life.

The project aims to promote a system of higher education in the field of agribusiness to enable the university to play a central role in the process of development and transformation of the agrifood system in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The local coordinator of the initiative for the University of Pavia is Professor Maria Sassi of the Department of Economics and Management. With her group of young researchers and the partners in the team she coordinates, in charge of disseminating and communicating the project, she has prepared the report summarizing the excellent results produced during the first year of work.
